We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven Buyer to join the Self‑Portrait Buying team. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Buying and play an integral part in supporting the end‑to‑end buying process. Our environment is fast‑paced and collaborative, offering significant exposure across the business. Key Responsibilities
- Customer Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of sales performance, customer buying patterns, and product lifecycle data to guide range planning and optimise assortment strategy.
- Market Intelligence: Analyse competitor activity, pricing strategies, and new product launches to ensure the brand maintains a strong competitive position and responds effectively to market shifts.
- Trend Forecasting & Range Planning: Identify emerging consumer trends through social media, influencers, fashion shows, and industry reports to anticipate future demand and guide product selection. Contribute to range planning by combining trend forecasting, sales analysis, and competitive insights to shape collections that meet both brand and commercial objectives.
- Range Review: Collaborate with the Design team during range reviews to refine and develop assortments that reflect the brand identity while ensuring strong commercial performance and the creation of future best sellers.
Skills & Experience
- Analytical Ability: Comfort with data, Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, and key performance indicators (KPIs) like sell-through, mark‑up, and Open to Buy (OTB).
- Trend Awareness: Strong, intuitive, and evidence-based understanding of fashion trends.
- Commercial Awareness: A focus on profitability, cost management, and margin negotiation.
- Negotiation & Communication: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with production team to secure favourable terms.
