At Self-Portrait we are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Assistant Buyer to join the Buying team. As Assistant Buyer you will support in all aspects of the business. We work in a fast-paced environment, so willingness to learn, take part in all aspects of the role, and a passion for your work are key. There is a lot of invaluable experience to be learnt as part of the team, so this is a great opportunity for the right candidate.

Day to day, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working on the ECOM visual merchandising, ensuring newness and bestsellers are well positioned on the website
  • Placing re-cut orders for bestsellers and updating the re-cut tracker
  • Managing pre-orders for new drops and re-cuts, working efficiently with all relevant teams to ensure the pre-buy system is updated to reflect outstanding shipments for UK, EU and US sites
  • Collating ECOM and Retail bestsellers ahead of Range Review meetings
  • Creating the ECOM Drops PDF and communicating any launch amendments to all relevant departments
  • Preparing presentation boards for RRP, ECOM drop launches and Buy sign off meetings ahead of deadline
  • Ensuring linesheets include the correct prices, sizing and product names
  • Adding product key features to the linesheets ahead of launch
  • Conducting competitor analysis, including pricing analysis
  • Providing a clear understanding of the Self-Portrait customer to input into product decisions
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues across Merchandising, ECOM, Graphics, Logistics, Design and PR

Your skills and experience will include:

  • 1-2 years experience as a Buying Assistant/Assistant Buyer, ideally within an ECOM fashion brand
  • Passion for product and a desire to learn more about Self-Portrait and our customer
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with different departments
  • Proficiency in excel and powerpoint
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
  • Flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience using systems or a clear demonstration of the ability to learn to use necessary systems
  • VM experience desirable
