8 hrs per week typically on a Saturday but days can be agreed with the right candidates.
We are supporting our client to recruit for a PA to provide support to her two sons.
They are two confident, outgoing, enthusiastic individuals aged 12 years old who have autism and a learning disability, you will provide support in the following ways:
- Provision of one-to-one support and companionship to the boys.
- Assisting with daily activities, including all aspects of personal care.
- Exploring outdoors with boys; walks, parks, swimming, trips to the zoo, trampoline centres, Cafes, McDonalds etc.
- Creating a safe and structured environment.
You will have:
- A genuine passion for working with individuals with a learning disability and autism.
- Be fit and a keen walker and swimmer.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- The ability to adapt to changing needs and behaviours.
- Excellent observation skills and ability to problem solve and think creatively.
- A full/clean driving license and access to a vehicle is essential for this position.
- Previous experience in caregiving or working with special needs individuals is preferred but not required.
