Overview

We are looking for a personal assistant for our client who is a happy and energetic 12-year-old boy with Autism, ADHD and a learning disability.

Responsibilities

  • Support the client to get out and about and enjoy time outside of school, including activities such as parks, walks, swimming, the beach, visits to Costas or the ice cream shop, and other suitable outdoor activities.
  • Encourage and participate in other activities the client enjoys.
  • Be patient, kind and understanding to support him during activities.
  • Be observant and maintain a good level of fitness; assist as the client has little sense of danger.
  • Manage medical needs related to asthma and other conditions; prior experience is beneficial.

Qualifications / Attributes

  • Caring attitude and a good sense of humour.
  • Reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work.
  • Enhanced PVG disclosure (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) – required.
