We are looking for a personal assistant to help provide support to a baby girl who has been diagnosed with Edwards Syndrome. Although this little girl is 15 months old, and outperforming all expectations, her developmental and physical delays mean she is like a 3-month-old. There will be some personal care involved, cuddles, playing on the floor and in her baby wheelchair, and support to feed her and administer medication (currently orally). Ideally, we would like someone who is not afraid of her condition and is confident interacting with unique babies.

Mum uses directed play with her little girl and the successful staff member would be encouraged to do the same. This directed play will incorporate cuddles, play, baby massage, songs, physio exercises and developmental play, with support from mum. In addition, we are looking for support to help mum at home with some light housework, errands, shopping, and to take baby out and about for walks and activities.

Applicants must have a caring and patient attitude, be extremely reliable, and excited to enrich the world of a special baby, and ease the pressures on her mother.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Light personal care
  • Help with feeding and administering medication
  • Playing and incorporating light physio

This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) and previous experience in this area would be beneficial.
