We are seeking a kind, positive and reliable Personal Assistant (PA) to support a 36-year-old man who is registered blind and has a mild learning disability. Although he is registered blind, he has some usable sight; however, his peripheral vision is very limited. He therefore requires support from someone who can help him navigate his surroundings safely and confidently.
Our client is sociable and enjoys being out in the community, meeting new people and taking part in activities. He is looking for a PA who will engage warmly with his interests, whether that involves exploring new places, attending community activities or enjoying conversation along the way. As he can sometimes find road safety and identifying potential hazards challenging, he will rely on his PA to provide calm, reassuring support when out and about.
The role is varied and will include supporting him to attend appointments, assisting with medication, helping with light household tasks, supporting weekly shopping and preparing meals. He is also keen to stay connected with the activities he enjoys, including dancing at a lunchtime disco in Dunfermline, going to the cinema, enjoying theatre shows, ten-pin bowling and going swimming.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
Duties & Responsibilities:

- Light housework and cooking
- Assistance with diary planning and activities
