Personal Assistant - 1 Hour Per Week - Kirkcaldy (SDS/NC/330710)
Female Applicants Only Please - Due to the personal care elements of this role an Occupational Requirement applies. This is permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
We are looking for a personal assistant to help provide support to a little girl who has been diagnosed with Edwards Syndrome and her mother in an approximate 50/50 capacity.
Although this little girl is 2 years old, and outperforming expectations, her developmental and physical delays mean she is like a 6-month-old.
There will be personal care involving, changing, feeding, cuddles, playing on the floor and in her supportive equipment and administering medication (orally). Ideally, we would like someone who is confident interacting with unique babies. Mum uses directed play with her little girl - baby massage, songs, physio exercises, practicing skills like spoon-holding, rolling, sitting and developmental play - the successful staff member would be required to do the same.
In addition, we are looking for support to help mum at home with light housework, errands, shopping, and to take baby out and about for walks and activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Help with feeding and administering medication
- Playing and incorporating light physio
Applicants must have a caring and patient attitude, be extremely reliable, and excited to enrich the world of a special baby. Having experience within this area would be of benefit.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) and the successful applicant will hold a driving licence.
We would ask that you write a small paragraph about yourself which will allow the family to
gain a better idea of why you would like to become a part of their lives.
