Are you calm, caring, and good in a crisis? We’re looking for a warm, reliable Personal Assistant to support a lovely 9-year-old boy in Dunfermline. He’s non-verbal and lives with autism and global developmental delay. He enjoys simple pleasures like swimming, walking, and playing at the park — though he may need a little encouragement some days. Occasionally, he uses a wheelchair and may become distressed without warning, so you'll need to stay calm and have creative ways to help him feel safe and settled. This is a fantastic role for someone with a positive attitude, a caring nature, and a great sense of humour — someone who can truly make a difference.
What you’ll do:
- Provide personal care
- Offer gentle encouragement and support in activities
- Assist with occasional wheelchair use
- Help manage and de-escalate distress with patience and creativity
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in care and providing personal care
- Member of the PVG Scheme (or willing to join)
- A driver is preferred
- Someone calm under pressure, flexible, and fun
