We are looking for a personal assistant to help a 40 year old male with his waking nights care. Shifts will be planned by the client to cover waking nights Wednesday to Sunday. This can be discussed in more detail at interview. Our client will accept applications for some or all of these hours.
Our client is diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a severe genetic disorder leading to progressive muscle weakness and degeneration. He also has respiratory failure, tracheostomy and incontinence.
Role and responsibilities:
- Personal care if needed
- Light housework
- Preparing drinks and snacks
- Medication assistance
- Suction support
- Hoist work if needing assistance
- Help to get settled
Work environment:
There is a desk and chair in the room for you to use but you must be awake during the shift.
Applicant requirements:
Applicants must have a caring attitude, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work. Having experience within this area would be of benefit.
Disclosure and safeguarding:
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) where you will be asked to provide a copy of your certificate to your new Employer for their records.
