The REO Asset Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of real estate‑owned (REO) assets at the loan level while maximizing investor returns. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to execute strategies that optimize recovery and minimize expenses in compliance with company policies and regulations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage the disposition of a portfolio of REO assets.
- Review appraisals and broker price opinions to establish market values and develop sales strategies.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures while maximizing recovery and minimizing costs.
- Oversee internal processes and vendor management with a hands‑on approach.
- Drive timely sale and disposition of assets through strict timeline management.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting for internal and external distribution.
- Recommend procedural improvements to enhance departmental efficiency.
- Stay current on federal and state mortgage laws and regulations impacting operations.
