Selene Clinical Research is seeking a motivated and patient-focused Research Nurse to support the delivery of high-quality clinical trials at our Birmingham site.

This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced research nurse or a registered nurse looking to transition into clinical research. Working alongside Principal Investigators, Sub-Investigators and multidisciplinary research teams, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional participant care, ensuring protocol compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of clinical trial conduct.

As a growing organisation, Selene offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, contribute ideas, and help shape the future of our research operations. We are looking for individuals who are excited by the opportunity to grow with the business and play an active role in our continued development.

The Role

As a Research Nurse, you will support the safe, ethical and compliant conduct of clinical trials across a range of therapeutic areas. You will be responsible for delivering participant visits, performing protocol-specific procedures, supporting recruitment activities, and helping ensure an outstanding participant experience throughout the research journey.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting clinical assessments and protocol-specific procedures, including vital signs, ECGs, phlebotomy, cannulation, sample processing and participant questionnaires.
  • Delivering high-quality, patient-centred care throughout screening, treatment and follow-up visits.
  • Monitoring participant safety and identifying, documenting and escalating adverse events as required.
  • Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical documentation in accordance with GCP and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting informed consent processes and participant engagement activities.
  • Providing clinical input into patient identification, pre-screening and recruitment activities to support efficient and appropriate enrolment into clinical trials.
  • Supporting investigational medicinal product (IMP) activities and accountability processes in accordance with training, delegation and site requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with research physicians, study coordinators, operational teams, sponsors and CROs.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of an inspection-ready research environment.

About You

We are interested in speaking with nurses who are passionate about patient care, research, and continuous professional development.

  • Current NMC registration with no restrictions on practice.
  • Experience working in a patient-facing clinical setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
  • Experience performing clinical procedures such as venepuncture and clinical observations.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
