About the role

This is not a standard graduate role. Selectamark is looking for exceptional Electrical Engineering graduates with the potential to grow into Technical Lead / Technical Manager positions. From day one, you’ll be working on real, deployed security and monitoring systems, with direct exposure to senior management and business decision-making.

We are a 20-person, technology-led company. There are no silos, no handoffs, and no bureaucracy. You will work directly with senior management, including the Commercial Director and leadership team, contributing to technical decisions that affect products, customers, and the business as a whole.

Your work will go live in environments where reliability, safety, and performance genuinely matter. This role is designed for graduates who are technically strong, commercially aware, and comfortable operating close to senior leadership — and who want to accelerate into positions of real responsibility.

What you’ll be doing

  • Gain hands-on engineering experience while working closely with senior management, seeing how technical decisions are made and owned at company level.

Technical & Systems Engineering

  • Support the design, testing, troubleshooting, and improvement of security and monitoring systems.
  • Work across electrical, electronic, mechanical, and system-level designs.
  • Assist with configuration, integration, and fault diagnosis of alarm and monitoring systems.
  • Develop the ability to take technical ownership of live products and systems.

Production, Assembly & Quality

  • Support production and assembly activities.
  • Help define and improve assembly instructions and test procedures.
  • Assist with quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Gain visibility of how engineering decisions affect manufacturing, cost, and reliability.

Testing, Safety & Compliance

  • Support testing of safety-critical electronic systems.
  • Assist in ensuring products meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Field, Customers & Suppliers

  • Support field deployments, installations, diagnostics, and fault resolution.
  • Attend supplier and customer visits alongside senior management, gaining early exposure to commercial and operational realities.
  • Assist with technical demonstrations, customer discussions, and technical support.

Development & Progression

  • Learn how products and engineering strategy are developed from concept to deployment.
  • Gain direct insight into technical, commercial, and risk-based decision-making.
  • Progress towards full technical ownership and leadership responsibility based on performance, not time served.

Who we’re looking for

We are deliberately selective. This role is for graduates who expect a lot from themselves and are comfortable operating close to decision-makers.
