Our client, a well-established property services business, is looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to join their growing team based in Bicester. The role covers a broad and varied portfolio from large-scale projects through to minor works and repairs across PFI Hospitals, Local Authority properties, Social Housing and Listed Buildings.
The Building Surveyor Role
- Provide professional advice on property and construction matters, completing detailed reports, specifications and building surveys, identifying defects and advising on repair, maintenance and remedial options.
- Project management forms a core part of the role, alongside liaising with clients and contractors, chairing meetings and representing the business in client-facing settings.
- Organising tender documentation and advising on contractor appointment and procurement routes.
- Defect analysis assessing the condition of existing buildings and producing proposals for repair.
- Advising on building maintenance, property legislation, building regulations and health and safety.
- Project management from inception through to completion.
Requirements
- Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent.
- Post-graduate experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of fire risk assessments would be advantageous.
This role involves a significant proportion of time on site rather than at a desk, with occasional out-of-hours client commitments and some overnight travel required, all expenses covered.
The Building Surveyor Package
- ~£50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
