Select Technology is a growing, award-winning MSP based in Paddock Wood, Kent. We work closely with our clients – not just supporting their technology, but understanding their businesses well enough to shape where that technology needs to go next.

As we continue to grow, we want every client to have someone in their corner who genuinely understands their business, not just their IT – a trusted advisor their leadership team turns to.

We’re looking for a Virtual CIO to lead our Technical Account Management and Technical Alignment teams, and to personally own the relationship with our top 10 clients.

What you’ll be doing

• Own client roadmap meetings and quarterly technology business reviews, helping clients see a clear one to three year picture of where their technology is heading
• Lead client conversations on cloud, infrastructure, cyber security and compliance posture (e.g. Cyber Essentials, GDPR, cyber insurance)
• Personally managing our top tier client relationships, getting under the skin of their businesses and delivering executive-level guidance
• Coaching and enabling the Technical Account Management and Technical Alignment team, so every client gets the same high standard of engagement
• Aligning our best-practice technology standards to each client’s environment, spotting opportunities and reducing risk along the way
• Setting annual technology budgets with clients and producing clear, jargon-free technology summaries
• Building genuine relationships with clients at every level, from IT managers through to Managing Directors and Finance Directors
• Keeping an eye on opportunity health and pipeline across the client base, and feeding insight back into how we shape our services
• Track vendor roadmaps and relevant industry or regulatory trends, feeding these into client roadmap conversations

What will you bring to the table?

• Proven experience in a vCIO, IT strategy, technical account management or senior MSP client-facing role
• A genuine interest in business and people, not just technology and you’re as comfortable talking budgets and strategy as you are talking infrastructure!
• Energy, enthusiasm and a real passion for technology and the value it can bring
• Confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and holding your own in a boardroom conversation
• Strong technical grounding in cloud, IT infrastructure, networking, cyber security and AI, providing credibility alongside commercial acumen
• A natural coach, happy sharing what you know and helping others raise their game
• Self-starter attitude, comfortable owning a client base and making decisions with confidence

The nitty gritty details

• A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle, as this role involves regular client visits
• Regular travel for client visits across Kent and the South East
• When not visiting clients, a minimum of 3 days in the office based at our Paddock Wood office
• 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays (26 with your birthday day), and a strong culture of growth and progression
