Select Talent Group (STG) is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a fast-growing, well-invested manufacturing business to appoint an operationally focused General Manager / Managing Director. This is a rare opportunity to lead an ambitious organisation through its next phase of growth, transformation and operational excellence. Backed by significant investment, the business is seeking an exceptional leader who can drive performance while shaping the future direction of the company.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position with full responsibility for operational performance and business improvement. Working closely with the Board, you will lead the next phase of growth by delivering operational excellence, building high-performing teams and embedding a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the overall operational performance of the business (P&L responsibility).
  • Driving business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leading post-acquisition integration following M&A activity.
  • Delivering complex New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes.
  • Developing and mentoring a high-performing leadership team.
  • Driving improvements across safety, quality, delivery, cost and profitability.
  • Building a world-class manufacturing culture capable of supporting future growth.

About You

We're looking for an exceptional manufacturing leader who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as a General Manager, Managing Director, Operations Director or similar senior operational leadership role.
  • A proven track record of leading manufacturing businesses through significant transformation.
  • Experience integrating businesses following acquisitions (M&A).
  • Extensive experience delivering complex NPI programmes.
  • A background within world-class manufacturing and high-performance operational environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen combined with outstanding operational leadership.
  • An engaging, visible leadership style with a passion for developing people and leading from the front.

This is an operationally biased leadership role. You'll enjoy spending time on the factory floor, challenging the status quo, solving problems and creating an environment where people and performance thrive.
