A growing contract manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Business Development Director to drive new business growth across highly regulated and technically demanding industries.
This is a senior individual contributor role focused on developing strategic customer relationships, securing new business opportunities, and building a sustainable pipeline within sectors such as aerospace, defence, medical devices, industrial automation, and advanced manufacturing.
The Opportunity
You will take ownership of identifying and securing new customer opportunities, working closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams to deliver tailored manufacturing solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and executing a strategic business development plan focused on winning new customers.
- Building relationships with OEMs and technology-led organisations operating in regulated industries.
- Identifying opportunities for electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly (PCBA), box build, and supply chain solutions.
- Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to contract negotiation and account development.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure customer requirements are understood and delivered.
- Representing the business at industry events, exhibitions, and customer meetings.
- Maintaining an active pipeline and delivering against agreed revenue growth targets.
About You
We are interested in speaking with commercially driven sales professionals who have a proven track record of winning new business within electronics manufacturing or related technical industries. You are likely to have:
- Experience selling contract manufacturing solutions as a Tier 1 / 2 into OEM, ideally with a good understanding of electronic components and solutions.
- Success in developing business within aerospace, defence, medical devices, industrial, automotive, or other highly regulated sectors.
- Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.
- Experience engaging with engineering, procurement, operations, and executive-level stakeholders.
- A track record of generating and converting strategic opportunities into long-term customer partnerships.
- The ability to understand complex technical requirements and translate them into commercial opportunities.
- Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites across the UK and Europe.
