They provide flexible truck, trailer, and rigid vehicle rental services to businesses nationwide, with depots in key locations around the UK. The business focuses on offering a hassle-free service by taking care of vehicle inspections, servicing, MOTs, and breakdown cover, allowing customers to concentrate on their operations. Known for its customer-focused approach, my client combines nationwide coverage with a personal, friendly service. Role Overview The Tyre/Maintenance Controller plays a key role in managing the authorisation of tyre and maintenance work, ensuring the smooth operation of the fleet. The position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to liaise with suppliers, depots, technicians, drivers, and customers. Key Responsibilities Authorise and manage tyre work with suppliers. Authorise and manage vehicle maintenance and repairs with suppliers. Handle incoming calls relating to breakdowns, service updates, and MOT scheduling. Provide advice and updates to customers regarding service and repair work. Liaise confidently with depots, technicians, drivers, and customers. Maintain accurate records of work authorised and completed. Skills & Experience Strong knowledge of tyres and vehicle maintenance (essential). Previous experience in a similar role within transport, fleet, or maintenance (desirable). Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills. Confident communicator, able to deal with different stakeholders effectively. Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks under pressure.
