Tyre & Maintenance Controller Location: Norwich (Office-Based) Salary: £35,000 – £37,000 (DOE) Contract: Permanent | Full-Time Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm About the Company Our client is a long-established and highly respected UK business with over 50 years of success in the commercial vehicle hire industry. With depots across the country, they supply flexible truck, trailer, and rigid vehicle rental solutions to businesses nationwide. They pride themselves on delivering a truly hassle-free service, taking care of inspections, servicing, MOTs, and breakdown support — so their customers can focus on running their operations. Despite their national reach, they’re known for their friendly, personal approach and strong customer relationships. The Role This is a fast-paced, office-based position at the heart of fleet operations. As a Tyre & Maintenance Controller, you’ll be the key link between suppliers, depots, technicians, drivers, and customers — keeping vehicles safe, compliant, and on the road. You’ll spend a large part of your day handling telephone calls, coordinating work, authorising repairs, and keeping everyone updated. It’s a role that combines technical knowledge, organisation, and great communication skills. Key Responsibilities Authorising and managing tyre work with suppliers Authorising and overseeing vehicle maintenance and repair work Handling incoming calls relating to breakdowns, service updates, and MOT scheduling Providing clear advice and updates to customers on service and repair progress Liaising confidently with depots, technicians, drivers, and suppliers Maintaining accurate records of authorised and completed work Creating and processing invoices Responding to queries and providing general support Skills & Experience Required Strong knowledge of tyres and vehicle maintenance (essential) Experience in a similar role within transport, fleet, or vehicle maintenance (desirable) Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills Confident communicator who can work with a range of stakeholders Highly organised, proactive, and able to prioritise in a busy environment What’s on Offer Competitive salary of £35,000 – £37,000 (depending on experience) 23 days holiday plus bank holidays Supportive team environment Ready to take the next step in your career?
