We’re currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established company based in Bury St Edmunds who are looking to expand their delivery support team. As a Drivers Mate, you will work alongside a driver assisting with the delivery and distribution of goods to various customer locations. This is a physically demanding role requiring manual handling and heavy lifting throughout the day.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting with loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
- Manual handling of heavy goods during multi-drop deliveries
- Supporting the driver in completing daily delivery routes
- Checking goods upon delivery to ensure accuracy and quality
- Providing a professional and helpful service to customers
- Following all health & safety procedures and company guidelines
- Working as part of a team to meet daily delivery targets
Requirements:
- Must be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
- Comfortable with early starts (5:00am)
- Good communication and team‑working skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
