We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our client, a well-established manufacturing company, on a permanent basis. This role offers excellent benefits and the chance to become part of a supportive, long-standing team.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on position where you'll support the smooth running of the warehouse and production operation. You'll be responsible for everything from supplying production lines and loading lorries to stock control and order picking. You'll be operating both Counterbalance and Reach forklifts within a busy warehouse environment.

Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts of 6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm. Very occasional night shifts (10:00pm–6:00am).

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect freshly produced pallets and move them into stock
  • Supply materials and goods to production lines
  • Load and unload lorries safely and efficiently
  • Put away palletised stock into warehouse racking
  • Pick customer orders using a computerised warehouse system
  • Operate palletisers and wrapping machinery
  • Re-stack, rebuild and wrap pallets when required
  • Carry out stock control, stock takes, daily forklift checks and general warehouse duties

About You

  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence from a nationally recognised provider (recently expired licences will also be considered)
  • Reach Truck licence or experience is advantageous
  • Previous experience operating forklifts within a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Flexible to work rotating shifts, including occasional nights
  • Own transport is essential due to the rural site location
  • Good IT skills and experience using warehouse stock control systems
  • Reliable, organised and accurate, with excellent attention to detail
  • A strong team player with good communication skills
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety
