Repair Technician (Trainee) – Northampton £27,500 per annum | Full Training Provided | Temporary to Permanent role Got steady hands and an eye for detail? This could be your next career. We're looking for people with genuine precision skills — whether that's gained on a workbench, at a jeweller's loupe, in a salon, or under the bonnet of a car — to train as Repair Technicians at our client's specialist repair facility in Northampton. You'll be trained from the ground up to service, restore, and repair high-value instruments, working on optics, tubing, circuitry, camera lenses, and precision-machined parts. No previous experience needed. What matters most is precision, patience, and the ability to work with small, delicate components. What You'll Be Doing Full training on all instrument types — how they work, their specifications, and how to repair them Examining, testing, and troubleshooting equipment to identify faults Hands-on repair work using microscopes, soldering irons, grinders, sanders, and polishers Repairing casings, tubing, circuitry, lenses, and machined parts Working to strict quality, safety, and ISO standards Contributing ideas as part of a close-knit, improvement-focused team What We're Looking For You have the right hands and the right mindset. We're especially keen to hear from people with experience in: Watch repair / horology – used to fine tolerances and delicate mechanisms Jewellery making or repair – skilled with small components and detailed handwork Nail technicians –Fast, precise, steady-handed work using fine tools Mobile phone, electronics, or appliance repair – comfortable taking things apart and rebuilding them Mechanics – naturally curious, good at troubleshooting Dental lab technicians – precision, small-scale, detail-driven work Assembly work – confident following detailed instructions and diagrams If your day-to-day has involved tweezers, a microscope, a soldering iron, or laser welding equipment, we want to hear from you.
