An established and growing construction manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to support its transport and delivery operations across the UK. This is a handsāon, officeābased role responsible for the dayātoāday planning, coordination, and control of transport activities supporting live construction projects and factory output.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily transport and delivery requirements to support manufacturing output and live construction projects.
- Liaise with external hauliers, drivers, customers, site managers, project teams, and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery operations.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of products, materials, and equipment in line with agreed programmes.
- Manage and resolve transport issues including delays, route restrictions, site access constraints, breakdowns, and lastāminute changes.
- Coordinate abnormal and oversized loads, including route planning, permits, and compliance with road and site regulations.
- Monitor transport performance and provide regular delivery and logistics reports.
- Track, chase, and maintain accurate Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation.
- Monitor transport costs and support basic cost control and budget management.
- Maintain accurate transport records and documentation in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Work proactively with internal teams to improve planning efficiency, reduce disruption, and support continuous improvement across logistics operations.
Experience Required
- Strong experience in logistics coordination, transport planning, or fleet management.
- Experience within the construction, manufacturing, or similar operational environment is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience coordinating multiple daily deliveries across live sites.
- Good understanding of construction site operations, delivery sequencing, and access constraints.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of transport planning, routing, and scheduling.
- Understanding of road transport regulations, permits, and load restrictions, including abnormal loads.
- Excellent organisational and timeāmanagement skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Strong communication skills, able to deal confidently with site teams, hauliers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Proven problemāsolving ability when handling delays, breakdowns, or urgent transport requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight delivery and project deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and recordākeeping.
- Cost awareness and basic understanding of transport cost control.
