About the Role: We’re working with a respected engineering company in Lowestoft that is looking to grow its design team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior-level candidate with a working knowledge of SolidWorks to gain valuable experience and grow within a supportive and skilled engineering environment.
The Opportunity: As a Junior Mechanical Design Assistant, you’ll play an important role in supporting the design and drafting team. You’ll work on real mechanical projects, producing high-quality 2D and 3D models using SolidWorks, assisting with documentation, and learning from experienced professionals along the way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and edit 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using SolidWorks
- Assist in updating and maintaining technical documentation and design files
- Support the generation of bills of materials (BOMs) and assembly guides
- Collaborate with engineers and designers during project development
- Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement efforts
- Ensure all documentation is kept current in the internal database
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline
- Proven experience using SolidWorks (academic projects, internships, or previous work)
