Our client operates within the marine manufacturing sector, producing high-end products to exacting standards. With a growing product range and an expanding team, they are now seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Machine Programmer to join them.

This is a varied and technically rewarding position, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and can work confidently across multiple machining platforms. You will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating a range of advanced CNC machinery, playing a key part in maintaining the high standards their customers expect.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Programming FOM Modus CNC machining centres for accurate aluminium profile machining, including tooling selection
  • Creating and optimising cutting programs for Bystronic Laser systems, including nesting and material utilisation
  • Programming Bystronic Press Brake machines, including tooling set-up, bend sequencing, and quality checks
  • Programming XYZ CNC machines for precision machining tasks
  • Programming and running Flatbed CNC Routers for sheet-based materials
  • Using Radan, Mastercam, and FOMCAM to generate efficient, accurate CNC programs
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, CAD files, and technical specifications
  • Performing machine set-up, calibration, tooling changes, and routine maintenance
  • Conducting first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks
  • Troubleshooting machine, software, and process issues to minimise downtime
  • Collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams
  • Maintaining accurate documentation for programs, tooling, and processes
  • Operating machinery to cover holidays and absence where required

What They're Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven experience programming and operating aluminium CNC machining centres, laser cutting systems, press brake machines, XYZ CNC machines, and flatbed CNC routers
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, cutting parameters, and material behaviour
  • Experience working with aluminium, steel, and sheet-based materials
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
  • Effective communicator who is approachable and has the ability to engage with the people they interact with
  • Proactive approach to continuous improvement
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Experience in working within a demanding customer-driven industry, with a structured approach to engineering

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in Radan, Mastercam, and/or FOMCAM (training available for the right candidate)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Forklift or overhead crane certification
  • Background in aluminium fabrication, sheet metal, or precision engineering
