Select Plant Hire, part of Laing O'Rourke, is seeking a confident and proactive individual to establish, implement, and maintain a robust document control framework on an ongoing basis. The successful candidate will work closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders, supporting each function by ensuring documentation is well organised, up to date, and easily accessible. Using the company's electronic document management systems, you will enable information to flow efficiently ensuring the right documents reach the right people at the right time. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with detail and structure, takes pride in organisation and accuracy, and wants to play an important role in supporting the company's operational and overall success.
Responsibilities
- Initial engagement with stakeholders to set up the agreed document control storage area.
- Manage and maintain document control systems (IGMS, Asite, and Field View), ensuring accurate information flow, proper version control, and compliance with our standards.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on all published documents in line with the document control procedures.
- Coordinate the creation, review, distribution, and archiving of documents in both digital and hard‑copy formats.
- Ensure consistent use of document numbering, naming conventions, and templates across all functions.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to internal teams and external stakeholders on document control processes and systems.
- Generate, maintain, and distribute regular reports and dashboards to support project oversight and performance monitoring.
Skills
- Experienced with collaboration and Electronic Document Management (EDM) systems.
- Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and able to prioritise under pressure.
- Proactive, self‑managed, with strong planning skills.
- Quick learner with strong technical aptitude.
- Flexible, reliable team player with excellent communication.
- Skilled in process mapping and management.
- 2+ years of Document Control experience.
