Select Plant Hire is looking for experienced Crawler Crane Operators to join our teams on major infrastructure and construction projects across the UK. As part of our directly employed workforce, you'll play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient delivery of complex lifting operations on some of the UK's most significant projects whilst benefiting from excellent training, development and long-term career opportunities.

Key Duties

  • Operate crawler cranes safely and efficiently in accordance with lifting plans, site procedures and manufacturer instructions.
  • Carry out pre-use checks and routine inspections of crane equipment.
  • Lift, move and position loads safely and accurately as directed by authorised personnel.
  • Ensure lifting accessories and equipment are suitable for the planned operation.
  • Maintain effective communication with Slinger Signallers, Crane Supervisors and site management.
  • Report defects, incidents and safety concerns promptly.
  • Complete daily records and operational documentation as required.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety within the crane operating area.
  • Follow approved safe working methods, risk assessments and site procedures at all times.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience operating crawler cranes on construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of safe lifting operations and lifting plans.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proactive approach to health and safety.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project requirements.
  • Reliable, responsible and safety focused.
  • Willingness to support continuous improvement and development initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

  • CPCS Blue Crawler Crane Operator Card
  • Valid Medical Certificate (where applicable)

Desirable Qualifications

  • CPCS Slinger Signaller
  • CPCS Crane Supervisor
  • Experience working on major infrastructure projects
