Who we're looking for:

We are looking for people with a genuine interest in construction and the built environment. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and ambitious, with potential to progress to a supervisory or management role over a five-to-ten year period.

Role Overview:

Supplying tower crane maintenance solutions to the Laing O'Rourke Group and external customers. You will be proactive in promoting initiatives related to Health & Safety, Environmental, Product Development, and improved performance. Your role ensures customers receive professional service and that the correct plant & materials are available on time. The position will commence in September 2026.

Apprenticeship Level and Standard:

Maintenance and operations engineering technician – Skills England

Apprenticeship Provider:

Laing O'Rourke collaborates with trusted and approved training providers for apprenticeship delivery. Successful candidates will be enrolled by Laing O'Rourke during the onboarding stage.

Entry Requirements:

  • Eligibility without restrictions to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship offered.
  • Full mobility to travel to various project locations.
  • 5 GCSEs, preferably grades 7-4 in Maths and English.

The Programme – What to Expect:

The Trade and Technical Apprenticeship programme provides formal college education, leading to Level 2 and/or 3 apprenticeship standards in your chosen vocation. You will gain a broad set of trade technical skills through on-the-job training, supported by qualified and experienced workforce and construction professionals. A dedicated mentor and approved training provider will work closely with you, providing regular feedback on progress toward completing your apprenticeship.
