One of the UK's largest confectionary companies is looking for a Lab Technician (Junior) to join their team in Reading (requirements to be at the Wokingham site). This role is great for someone who is starting out in the work environment/recent graduate.

Responsibilities:

  • These positions will be a flexible technician role working across different departments including analytical, food product development and food manufacturing.
  • Working in different laboratories as demand requires.
  • Provide high quality customer service at all times by ensuring effective organisation of assigned workload, integrity of analytical data generated and timely/accurate provision of results.
  • Perform a range of basic routine analysis, product manufacturing and sample preparation under supervision of a senior member of staff.
  • Perform laboratory tasks following specified methodologies, such as Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Use of specified instrumentation and laboratory equipment, including calibration where required.
  • Produce reliable, accurate data and keep accurate records of laboratory work undertaken and results.
  • Follow product formulations and methods considering standard operating procedures and food safety to produce food products at bench scale or manufacturing.
  • Operate basic lab and manufacturing equipment as directed.
  • Be competent in the use of generic and specific software packages required for the role: Laboratory’s LIMS system, Q-Pulse, etc.
  • Perform admin and housekeeping duties as directed.

Qualifications:

  • A levels in a scientific discipline would be preferred.
