HYBRID - This role is working for a luxury automotive OEM in Whitley, Coventry.
Position Description:
- The focus of this role is the design and development of Electric Drive Unit (EDU) transmission systems.
- The engineer will develop solutions for products in delivery/launch and/or advanced development phases using both experimental and analytical approaches.
- The engineer will need a drive to succeed to develop and execute their plans precisely coordinating activities with a wide range of stakeholders including CAD designers, CAE analysts, suppliers, prototype workshops, and test facilities.

- Good technical understanding of mechanical component design.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance to execute plans to target.
- Problem solving experience resolving business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment.
Experience Required:
- Good technical understanding of mechanical component design (including strength and fatigue).
- Problem solving experience resolving business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment, with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance to execute plans to target.
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
Experience Preferred:
- Experience developing electric drive unit transmission components and sub-systems.
- Experience with transmission virtual analysis, including dedicated tools such as Romax 3DX and CATIA knowledge and experience.
- A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, product definition and change management processes.
