The predicted salary is between 50000 - 70000 £ per year.

This role offers an optional (non-contractual) Hybrid working arrangement, whereby the candidate can work a minimum of three days at the Coventry office.

We offer core hours when working onsite of Monday to Thursday - 10am to 3pm must be worked in the Coventry office.

Outside of the core hours worked in that day, the remaining hours of work can be worked from home.

A total of 8.5 hour per day with an additional half an hour lunch break.

Friday is one of the two, permitted “work from home” with normal hours 7:45 to 12:45 (no lunch break).

The standard, full working week is 39 hours.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To develop seating systems and subsystems that meet all project specifications and requirements from concept to stable production at rate.

This includes the generation of concepts and the development of components and assemblies, leading to an accurate and complete BOM, the release of drawings, CAD and other engineering information to the Tier 1 Supplier and Customer PLM systems, the execution of a successful test plan and support for the manufacturing plant in resolving any issues.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Interpret all specifications and generate concepts for a design solution that meet them.

Develop a Bill of Materials that is accurate and complete and provides clear revision control.

Develop and engineer components and sub-assemblies for each Bo M item that the Tier 1 suppliers design responsible for.

Support the customer and the supplier base (whether directed or otherwise) to develop their components.

Integrate all components and sub-systems into the seat(s) Analyse the product, virtually and physically, and capture any issues in an open issues list.

Resolve technical issues in the product by removing the root cause.

Provide interim containments whilst root cause is being removed, with written work instructions for execution.

Ensure that the engineering drawings produced for each product are complete and unambiguous.

Have working knowledge of legal, customer and Tier 1 supplier seating and safety requirements Ensure the product meets all legal requirements Ensure the product meets all customer requirements Ensure the product meets all of the Tier 1 Suppliers requirements Ensure the product is feasible to manufacture.

Release all components and assemblies to the Tier 1 Supplier and customer PLM systems Perform tolerance calculations to ensure functional requirements are met Order parts and ensure effective revision control for engineering builds, samples and mock-ups Participate in the building of Moment of Truth (prototype) seats and creating physical component mock ups.

Ensure all test plans are complete and demonstrate adherence to all applicable specifications Support the Tier 1 Supplier and customer manufacturing facilities in resolving technical issues from the product post job 1 Manage and coordinate and audit best cost country offshore tasks and project work KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Essential:

  • Tertiary level STEM qualification.
  • 5 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering role
  • Ability to create and communicate engineering schemes from either surrogate parts or new concepts
  • Ability to check and approve an engineering drawing
  • Highly competent in MS-excel and Power

Point Desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 5 years’ experience in automotive seating
