Select Control Systems Ltd is looking for an experienced Principal Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Washington. This is a senior hands-on role for an engineer who can take ownership of industrial electrical control system design from customer enquiry through to complete bill of materials and working drawings for production and test. You will also provide technical leadership to the wider engineering team and help ensure engineering output is robust, commercially sound, and delivered on time.

- Producing electrical schematics, layouts, harness drawings and bills of materials
- Leading engineering activity and supporting other engineers with technical guidance
- Managing customer requirements, technical queries and project communication
- Producing quotes and supporting the commercial side of project delivery
- Creating and controlling technical documentation, calculations, reports and manuals where required
- Supporting production, testing, commissioning activity and occasional site visits
- Helping prioritise engineering workload and improve standards across the team
At least 10 years of industrial electrical control system design experience
Strong background in control panels and electrical CAD drawing
Experience leading or guiding an engineering team
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and customer specifications accurately
Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience
PLC software or commissioning experience
HNC or degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
Competitive salary of £40,000 to £60,000 depending on experience
