Our client is a growing professional services, construction and maintenance business delivering projects across the commercial, industrial and public sectors. With typical project values ranging from £200,000 to £5,000,000 — spanning planned maintenance, refurbishment, reactive works and medium construction packages — they are looking to add an experienced Scoping Estimator to their team as a result of continued growth.

This is a varied, hands‑on role that combines regular site visits with office‑based estimating duties. You'll be responsible for identifying, surveying, scoping and pricing works across a broad portfolio of projects and maintenance contracts, and will need a practical understanding of construction methods, maintenance works and Schedule of Rates pricing.

The Role

You'll attend site visits to inspect and scope required works, before preparing detailed cost estimates covering labour, materials, subcontractor costs and plant requirements. Alongside this you'll interpret drawings and specifications, work with SOR contracts, liaise with clients and supply chain, identify risks and value engineering opportunities, and support tender submissions and project handovers.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in an estimating or surveying role within construction and/or maintenance
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, refurbishment and maintenance works
  • Experience with Schedule of Rates (SOR) contracts
  • Ability to carry out independent site surveys and define accurate scopes of work
  • Good commercial awareness with strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Competence with Microsoft Office and estimating software
  • Full UK driving licence
  • A trade background or construction qualification (HNC/HND/NVQ or equivalent) would be advantageous, as would experience of public sector or framework contracts.
The Package

£45,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
Pension scheme
Free parking
