Our client, an established global specialty insurance organisation, is seeking a Premium Management Analyst to join its Technical Operations team. This is a key role responsible for ensuring premiums are accurately calculated, chased, recorded, and reported in a timely manner, while supporting compliance, audit, and data quality objectives across the business. The successful candidate will work closely with underwriting, brokers, compliance, finance, and third‑party providers, playing a vital role in premium lifecycle management and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Premium Review & Management: Review, calculate, and book premium adjustments and reinstatement premiums, following up with brokers where required. Perform statutory premium reserve reviews and ensure reserves are released in line with policy terms. Ensure quota share statements and aggregate lineslip premiums are received, reviewed, and booked within required deadlines. Identify and follow up on policies with No Claims Bonus, Continuity Commission, or profit commission clauses to ensure correct returns are processed. Coordinate and complete quarterly Estimated Premium Income (EPI) reviews, ensuring accurate tracking and system updates. Investigate and resolve unaccounted premiums on a monthly basis prior to period close.
- Policy Review & Premium Status: Review policies against slip conditions to ensure premiums and endorsements are accurately captured. Liaise with brokers to resolve any missing or expected premium items.
- Compliance & Regulatory Reporting: Review surplus lines reporting on a monthly basis and chase missing data with underwriters and brokers. Assist with the preparation and timely submission of statutory and compliance reports. Support early identification of reporting requirements to avoid late filings.
- Insurance Premium Tax (IPT): Prepare and submit IPT returns to fiscal representatives in line with local regulatory requirements. Maintain robust audit trails and supporting documentation. Perform data quality checks to ensure correct IPT rates and country‑specific reporting rules are applied. Resolve IPT‑related queries with internal teams and external representatives. Maintain master IPT records and ensure documentation reflects current processes.
- Audit & Data Quality: Support internal and external audits by delivering required documentation within agreed timelines. Contribute to operational data quality initiatives across the business.
- Outsourcing & Third‑Party Oversight: Support oversight of outsourced premium processing and bordereaux management activities. Monitor service delivery, data quality, and agreed performance targets. Assist with root cause analysis and remediation planning where issues arise. Ensure timely responses to queries raised by outsourced providers.
- Third‑Party Carrier Management: Ensure monthly bordereaux submissions and payments are made in line with binder agreements. Resolve carrier queries efficiently and accurately.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Practical understanding of underwriting and policy administration systems
- Strong Excel skills and advanced Outlook capability
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Adobe Standard
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong stakeholder management skills, both internal and external
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Proactive approach to learning, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement
