About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client's busy production team in Thetford. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all production machinery and equipment operate efficiently and reliably. You will be a key part of the maintenance team, carrying out preventative, reactive, and predictive maintenance tasks to minimise downtime and support continuous production.
This role requires flexibility, as you will work across a three-shift rotation, including nights, with a shift allowance included for night work. You will have the opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and general engineering skills in a dynamic environment, working with a supportive team committed to high standards and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and planned maintenance on production machinery to prevent breakdowns.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults and implement timely solutions.
- Carry out emergency repairs to minimise production downtime.
- Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including fault reports and service logs.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting ways to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, in line with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify potential issues and implement preventative measures.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, ideally in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with experience in troubleshooting machinery faults.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively across a threeâshift rotation, including night shifts.
- Strong problemâsolving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to liaise with colleagues and management.
- Health and safety aware, with relevant certifications or training preferred (e.g., electrical, mechanical, or engineering qualifications).
