My client is offering a Preconstruction Planner position based in Ipswich, working across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, education, healthcare, industrial and conservation projects. This Preconstruction Planner role offers variety, influence and early-stage involvement, giving you genuine ownership of programmes, methodology and sequencing before projects reach site, with the backing of a well-established regional contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Involved from bid stage onwards, producing detailed preconstruction and tender programmes using Asta Powerproject.
  • Developing logistics layouts and sequencing drawings.
  • Compiling written construction methodologies that clearly demonstrate how projects will be delivered.
  • Supporting live projects by identifying critical paths, assessing programme risk, preparing reports and presentations.
  • Collaborating closely with project teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure programmes are robust, realistic and well communicated.

Qualifications

  • Enjoys using planning software as a strategic tool.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing and processes.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documentation to add value early.
  • Likes working collaboratively, managing their own workload, and using analytical thinking and attention to detail to solve problems before they arise.
  • Exposure to NEC and JCT forms and modern preconstruction practices.
