Select Recruitment is currently recruiting a Glass Manufacturing Operative on behalf of our client, a manufacturer of high-end glass products. This is an excellent opportunity to join a quality-driven production environment where precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement are key.
THE ROLE
You will work as part of a specialist glass production team, producing glass components to a consistently high standard. Full training will be provided across several processes, including:
- Glass Cutting – Transferring CAD data and nesting parts to optimise glass sheet usage
- Glass Grinding – Programming, setting, and operating glass edge-grinding machines
- Glass Toughening – Training on in-house flat and bent glass toughening processes, including furnace, press-bent, and sagged bending systems
- Glass Printing – Operating large-format printers to apply detailed designs prior to furnace processing
You will be trained to read and understand engineering drawings and work to required quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manufacture glass products right first time and to specification
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping
- Handle glass safely, including manual lifting where required (mechanical lifting aids available)
- Follow behavioural-based Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Contribute to lean and continuous improvement initiatives

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Calm, controlled approach to work
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively
- Self-motivated and able to use initiative
- Good communication and teamwork skills

SHIFT PATTERN
Week 1: Monday–Thursday: 06:00–14:00, Friday: 06:00–13:00
Week 2: Monday–Thursday: 14:00–22:00, Friday: 13:00–20:00
Rotating on a weekly basis. Overtime is paid at time and a half.
