We have a rare opportunity to take your investigative expertise into a high-impact, specialist enforcement role — working on complex, multi-agency casework that genuinely makes a difference to communities across South Cambridgeshire. My client is looking to add to their team; the Environmental Health Caravan Enforcement Officer position puts you at the heart of a focused, purpose-driven programme tackling unlicensed caravan sites — where your skills in investigation, evidence gathering, and stakeholder coordination will shape real legal outcomes.

As Environmental Health Caravan Enforcement Officer, you'll lead the investigation and coordination of enforcement activity across unlicensed caravan sites — building detailed site histories, compiling legally robust evidence bundles, supporting prosecutions, and working alongside legal services, the police, and other statutory agencies to deliver cohesive, well-structured cases. Your background in regulatory compliance, casework, or enforcement will be put to excellent use, and your ability to navigate contentious situations with professionalism and resilience will be just as valuable as your technical knowledge.

The ideal candidate will bring a background in public sector enforcement, policing, housing, or security — someone well versed in handling difficult and challenging situations, unlawful activity, and the kind of multi-stakeholder coordination that complex casework demands. Familiarity with caravan site licensing, mobile homes legislation, POCA, or financial investigations would be a real advantage, as would experience of preparing cases for formal enforcement action.

What's on offer:

  • A salary circa £25.00 per hour, dependent on experience
  • Flexible hybrid working, with just one to two days per week in the office
  • The chance to work on genuinely specialist, high-profile enforcement casework
  • A collaborative, multi-agency environment with real professional variety
  • This role is a temporary 6 month contract.

My client has built a team that is ambitious, values-driven, and committed to making South Cambridgeshire a better place to live and work. This is an organisation that takes its responsibilities seriously — and gives its people the autonomy and support to do the same.
