Our client, a leading systematic hedge fund, is seeking a Windows Engineer to join their London team. This role sits within the global infrastructure team, where you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of core IT services that support research technology, trading platforms, market execution, and data processing. This is a highly technical position requiring extensive experience in deploying and managing Windows Server environments, including large-scale migrations. Strong PowerShell scripting skills are essential for automation, OS builds, and infrastructure optimisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, manage, and monitor a globally distributed, multi-forest Windows Server environment (versions 2016-2025).
- Configure and maintain monitoring, observability, and dashboarding tools to track server and application performance.
- Manage Active Directory (AD), Group Policy, and Entra ID to enforce security and access policies.
- Automate server management using PowerShell, Ansible, and Terraform for provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
- Provide 2nd-line support and 3rd-line escalation for Windows Server-related issues.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience deploying and managing Windows Server environments, including large-scale migrations.
- Strong expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS for system design and troubleshooting.
