We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join our client's investment banking team in London, focused exclusively on the technology services and specialist consulting sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile domestic and cross-border M&A transactions involving software and IT services businesses, digital transformation consultancies, cybersecurity firms, cloud and managed services providers, data & analytics specialists, and other knowledge-based services companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of sell-side M&A transactions across technology services, digital transformation, cybersecurity, cloud services, data & analytics, managed services, and specialist consulting sectors.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models, valuation analyses, buyer screening exercises, and transaction materials.
  • Assist in managing multiple workstreams throughout live transactions, including due diligence coordination, data room management, Q&A processes, and stakeholder communication.
  • Prepare high-quality pitchbooks, information memoranda, management presentations, and market intelligence materials with a strong emphasis on accuracy and commercial insight.
  • Conduct strategic and financial analysis of target companies, industry trends, competitive dynamics, and potential acquirers.
  • Work closely with senior bankers, business owners, management teams, private equity investors, and strategic buyers throughout the sale process.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across international offices on cross-border mandates involving global buyers and investors.
  • Monitor developments across the technology, consulting, AI, cloud, cybersecurity, and digital services landscapes to support client advisory work and business development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3-6 years of experience within investment banking, transaction services, corporate finance, transaction advisory, or a related M&A environment.
  • Sector Interest: Strong interest in technology services, software-enabled services, consulting, digital transformation, cybersecurity, cloud computing, AI, data & analytics, or related sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical capabilities with a solid understanding of corporate finance and M&A processes.
  • Transaction Execution: Experience supporting buy-side, sell-side, fundraising, or strategic advisory engagements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare client-ready materials and present complex information clearly.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong attention to detail, commercial acumen, and the ability to analyse businesses and industries critically.
