About the Role
They are looking for a technically strong UK Tax Manager who can take ownership of the organisation's day‑to‑day UK tax affairs. This is a hands‑on and high‑visibility position working directly with the UK Finance team, where you'll play a crucial role in safeguarding the accuracy, quality, and integrity of all tax processes. The role sits within the Institutional Tax function and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer, Europe, whilst also partnering closely with the Head of Tax, Europe & America. This is an individual contributor role‑perfect for someone who enjoys autonomy, end‑to‑end ownership, and being genuinely close to the detail. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all UK tax compliance activities, including corporation tax returns, statutory filings, tax provisioning, and group reporting for annual and half‑year cycles.
- Serve as the primary UK tax contact for Finance, ensuring accurate maintenance and understanding of tax‑related balance sheet accounts.
- Oversee indirect tax compliance and support UK‑related transfer pricing requirements.
- Provide practical, commercially focused UK tax advice on business initiatives, transactions, and new products, escalating complex matters when required.
- Manage interactions with external advisers and HMRC, including audits and information requests.
- Keep abreast of UK tax legislation and regulatory changes, proactively assessing and communicating impacts to the business.
- Support the Head of Tax, Europe & America on technical and operational projects as needed.
Candidate Profile
- Strong UK tax experience, ideally with both practice training and in‑house exposure.
- Prior experience at Manager level within a UK accountancy firm, followed by in‑house tax responsibilities.
- A deep understanding of UK corporation tax compliance, including provisions and related accounting processes.
- Solid, commercially minded UK tax advisory capabilities across routine and ad‑hoc business matters.
- Working knowledge of UK tax accounting (current and deferred) and the ability to collaborate effectively with Finance teams.
- A relevant professional qualification such as ACA, CTA, CPA, or equivalent.
- A preference for hands‑on, technically involved roles where you can truly influence the tax landscape of the business.
