One of our tier 1 hedge fund clients are looking to add a Specialist Data Scientist/Analyst to the London office as part of their Equities Fund. You will be working alongside the investment and research teams to generate new insights, drive ML and advanced analytics, and work with the research team towards generating sustained alpha. Directly aligned to 1-2 PMs.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with investment teams to comprehend their investment methodologies and leverage data to augment their research processes.
- Support investment teams in identifying key data drivers impacting companies and sectors.
- Analyze data from various sources to validate complex investment hypotheses.
- Efficiently process data, identify critical points, and assess data relevance to investment inquiries.
- Deliver high-caliber research to investment teams in a clear and concise manner.
- Utilize existing and new datasets to develop significant insights and decision support tools for investment teams.
Required Skills:
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Python (Pandas, NumPy + more) and SQL
- Strong background in advanced analytics and statistical modelling
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Experience working with large, unstructured data sets
- Prior experience in the investment management industry, with good knowledge on equities
- Experience with Bloomberg or similar platforms
