Selby Jennings are working with a leading global insurer to appoint a Financial Lines & Cyber Pricing Manager into a key leadership position within their pricing function. This is a highly visible role supporting a significant Financial Lines and Cyber portfolio across both company and London Market business. The successful candidate will lead a team of pricing actuaries and analysts, partnering closely with underwriting leadership to drive portfolio performance, pricing strategy, and profitable growth. The role offers a broad remit spanning portfolio management, technical pricing, capital modelling, planning, and people leadership. Rather than being limited to case pricing, this opportunity provides exposure to strategic decision-making, portfolio optimisation, and senior stakeholder engagement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of pricing actuaries and analysts supporting Financial Lines and Cyber portfolios
  • Partner with underwriters to assess portfolio performance and develop strategies to improve underwriting results
  • Develop, calibrate, and maintain exposure rating and experience rating models
  • Support pricing decisions on large accounts, facilities, binders, and referral business
  • Drive portfolio monitoring through pricing adequacy reviews, performance dashboards, and portfolio analytics
  • Contribute to business planning, forecasting, and longer-term strategic initiatives
  • Contribute to reinsurance analysis and purchasing decisions where appropriate
  • Collaborate with wider actuarial and analytics teams on automation, efficiency, and data-driven initiatives
  • Manage and mentor actuarial talent across both local and offshore teams

Role Requirements

  • Qualified Actuary (FIA, FCAS, or equivalent)
  • Strong London Market or Specialty Insurance pricing experience, ideally within Financial Lines and/or Cyber
  • Proven experience in pricing, portfolio management, and rating model development
  • Previous people management or team leadership experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong technical and analytical capability, including experience with actuarial modelling and data tools
  • Experience with Python, SQL, R, Databricks, Power BI, Radar, ResQ, or similar technologies advantageous
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to translate technical insights into underwriting and business decisions
