Position: Associate – Operations Team
A well-established and highly regarded proprietary trading firm is seeking an Associate to join its dynamic Operations Team.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile internal data with external parties for positions, trades, cash, NAV, and fees.
- Contribute to the automation of daily tasks and workflows.
- Pre-match trades and manage fails across various markets.
- Support clearing and settlement processes across asset classes, including Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, FX, Commodities, and Crypto.
- Handle end-of-day trade processing and daily PnL reporting.
- Investigate breaks raised by internal teams and external counterparties.
- Maintain and manage data systems to minimize and resolve discrepancies.
- Build strong relationships with brokers to address and improve daily operational issues.
- Work with external software providers to troubleshoot and enhance existing systems.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure smooth handovers and workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of relevant experience in trading operations or dev operations within financial services.
- Strong interest in post-trade infrastructure.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Look-ups, Pivot Tables, Conditional Statements).
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
- A proactive attitude and adaptability to learn and implement new processes.
- Basic knowledge of global markets.
- Buy-side experience and familiarity with the fee/commission landscape (preferred).
- Experience with task management tools like JIRA (preferred).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle diverse responsibilities.
