A leading global investment bank is seeking a Security Engineer - AI & Cloud to join its Application, Platform and Engineering organisation. This hands-on engineering role sits within a startup-style team responsible for defining the bank's technology strategy and building modern, secure, production-grade platforms at scale. The position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies including generative AI, Golang, Kubernetes and cloud-native stacks in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build secure, production-grade AI platforms and products from 0-1, ensuring security is embedded from initial design through to deployment.
  • Conduct ethical hacking, red teaming, penetration testing, vulnerability research, and adversarial simulations to harden platforms against real-world threats.
  • Identify and mitigate AI-specific vulnerabilities, including LLM prompt injection, model exploitation, and novel attack vectors unique to emerging AI systems.
  • Design, build and maintain security tools, automation frameworks, and reusable security components for use across engineering teams.
  • Drive shift-left security, embedding secure coding practices and threat modelling into rapid development cycles without slowing delivery.
  • Partner with engineering teams to secure cloud-native, containerised, and Kubernetes-based environments at enterprise scale.
  • Lead and support incident response and forensics activities across AI and cloud platforms.
  • Mentor engineers in secure design, vulnerability remediation, and modern security best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Golang; experience building large-scale, secure production systems is essential.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in ethical hacking, penetration testing, red team operations, and adversarial security thinking.
  • Proven track record of engineering secure applications, APIs, and distributed systems, ideally in high-traffic or enterprise environments.
  • Experience with authentication and authorisation frameworks such as OAuth, JWT, RBAC, and complex identity systems.
  • Strong background in API security, threat modelling, and securing REST/GraphQL interfaces.
  • Practical understanding of AI/ML security, including LLM vulnerabilities, prompt injection attacks, and evaluation of model behaviour.
  • Experience securing Kubernetes, service meshes, cloud-native architectures, and containerised workloads at scale.
  • Familiarity with Python or JavaScript for building security tooling or automation is beneficial.
  • Experience with security automation, CI/CD integration, and high-velocity engineering environments.
