This role sits within a central Data & AI function and partners directly with PMs and researchers. It goes beyond a traditional SDA profile, combining handsâon data science with strong frontâoffice engagement and a focus on scalable data onboarding and evaluation - improving the existing platform.
The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with PMs and research teams to identify data opportunities and develop investmentârelevant use cases.
- Acquire, clean, and analyse large, messy and unstructured datasets, with a strong emphasis on alternative data and timeâseries analysis.
- Conduct exploratory analysis, statistical testing, and KPI research to generate actionable insights for frontâoffice teams.
- Contribute to the design of scalable data onboarding and evaluation workflows, working alongside engineering teams who execute most core builds.
- Build proofâofâconcept analyses and AIâenabled tools to accelerate research and data adoption across the business.
Requirements
- 3-8 years' experience in a Data Science or investmentâfacing research environment, ideally with exposure to alternative data or SDAâtype work.
- Strong foundations in data wrangling, timeâseries analysis, Python, and SQL within a modern data science stack.
- Experience working closely with investment stakeholders (buyâside preferred; investmentâfacing sellâside considered).
- Ability to clearly communicate technical work to PMs and nonâtechnical audiences.
- Strong interest in using AI tools as part of the dayâtoâday workflow (debugging, accelerating delivery, improving output quality).
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting multiple PM or quant research teams.
- Exposure to platform or workflow design around data onboarding and evaluation.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, webâscraping, or lightweight pipeline development (tooling is flexible).
