They are now seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to join a global team operating at the core of a largeâscale, missionâcritical Linux environment powering cuttingâedge quantitative research and highâperformance trading.
This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in one of the industry's most advanced Linux estates - handsâon across highâavailability platforms, large compute clusters, and automation tooling - while partnering with exceptional engineers to elevate observability, resilience, and platform automation.
As a key member of the global infrastructure support organisation, you will help support, scale, and evolve the firmâs nextâgeneration Linux trading and research platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Administer, support, and optimise Linuxâbased trading and research platforms within a highâavailability, ultraâlowâlatency production environment.
- Deploy new infrastructure and manage endâtoâend server lifecycle processes, from bareâmetal installation through to full OS provisioning.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance automation, monitoring, and observability, driving efficiency, reliability, and longâterm scalability.
- Troubleshoot complex production incidents, conduct deepâdive rootâcause analysis, and implement enduring stability improvements.
- Produce and maintain highâquality documentation while contributing to process refinement and knowledge sharing across the global infrastructure group.
- Participate in an onâcall rotation and provide occasional outâofâhours (primarily remote) support.
- 4+ years' experience in infrastructure, systems engineering, or Linux platform support within highâavailability, missionâcritical environments.
- Strong handsâon Linux administration experience with Red Hat, CentOS, or Rocky Linux.
- Proven experience delivering full server lifecycle builds, including hardware installation, OS deployment, and configuration.
- Solid understanding of AMD and Intel server hardware, with the ability to troubleshoot at both system and component level.
- Practical experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Scripting proficiency in Python and Bash for automation, tooling, and operational workflows.
