A tier 1 global investment bank is seeking to hire an Associate to join its Consumer & Retail investment banking team in London. The team is recognised as a market‑leading franchise, advising on high‑profile, complex transactions across the Consumer, Retail and broader Consumer Services sectors, with a particular focus on upper‑mid to large‑cap M&A.
Role Overview
The Associate will play a central role in the execution of M&A, capital markets and strategic advisory mandates, working closely with senior bankers and blue‑chip corporate and sponsor clients on domestic and cross‑border transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execution of upper‑mid to large‑cap Consumer & Retail M&A transactions, alongside select equity and debt capital markets mandates
- Financial modelling, valuation analysis and return analysis across a range of transaction structures
- Preparation of client materials including pitch books, IMs and board‑level presentations
- Ownership of transaction workstreams, coordinating internal teams and external advisers
- Ongoing interaction with senior clients, legal advisers, accountants and other stakeholders
- Coaching and oversight of Analysts within the team
Candidate Profile
- Investment banking experience at Associate level within M&A or Consumer & Retail coverage
- Proven exposure to upper‑mid to large‑cap M&A transactions, preferably within Consumer, Retail or Consumer Services
- Strong technical skill set across financial modelling and valuation
- Excellent academic background from a leading university
- Commercial judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to operate in a demanding, fast‑paced environment
