Our client, a leading digital assets firm, is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead to take full ownership of its technology function. The business operates a low-latency algorithmic trading platform and is currently lacking senior technical leadership, which is limiting its ability to scale effectively. This is a critical hire. They are looking for a Senior Engineer who leads from the front—a person who can take full ownership of architecture, coding, product direction, and security, working closely with the CEO and a small, senior leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Own and define the technology vision, platform architecture, and engineering standards.
- Remain hands-on: writing code, reviewing pull requests, and troubleshooting production issues.
- Drive the product roadmap in collaboration with the CEO and commercial team, translating business priorities into clear engineering deliverables and owning prioritisation and trade-off decisions.
- Take full ownership of the company's security posture, ensuring platform integrity, data protection, and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
Requirements
- Proven track record of building and delivering production-grade platforms within a start-up or scale-up environment.
- Broad and deep technical expertise across backend development, frontend systems, DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure (e.g., Kubernetes, Terraform), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of security best practices, including IAM, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and enterprise-grade security frameworks.
- Experience within financial technology, digital assets, or other regulated environments is highly advantageous.
