Director - Restructuring Advisory

A leading independent advisory firm is seeking to appoint an experienced Director into its London‑based Restructuring Advisory practice. This hire is driven by sustained growth in live mandates, increased pitch activity, and a need to add senior execution capacity to the team.

The role is suited to a highly hands‑on restructuring professional who has operated in pressured, real‑world situations and is comfortable being deployed independently on small to mid‑sized engagements. The focus is firmly on delivery rather than oversight.

  • Lead and independently manage restructuring assignments across stressed and distressed situations.
  • Act in interim management capacities, including liquidity management and operational stabilisation during periods of financial distress.
  • Build, own, and deliver 13‑week cashflow forecasts and short‑term liquidity models in live situations.
  • Support and lead liquidating trustee and wind‑down engagements where required.
  • Run client workstreams end‑to‑end with limited supervision, acting as a self‑sufficient project lead.
  • Be deployable at short notice onto live situations, with the ability to \"carry\" smaller and mid‑market restructurings.
  • Contribute to business development activity, particularly supporting a growing volume of restructuring pitches and proposals.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong restructuring advisory background gained within a reputable advisory, insolvency, or special situations platform.
  • Demonstrable experience in interim management roles, including hands‑on cash management and short‑term decision making.
  • Proven track record of producing and managing 13‑week cashflows in time‑critical environments.
  • Exposure to liquidating trustee appointments, formal insolvency, or wind‑down processes.
  • Comfortable operating autonomously and being placed directly with management teams, lenders, and stakeholders.
  • Highly execution‑driven mindset, with evidence of having spent significant time \"in the trenches\" delivering work.
  • Ability to operate at VP to Director level on smaller and mid‑sized engagements, taking responsibility for the majority of execution.

The Opportunity

  • Join a busy and growing restructuring practice with strong deal flow.
  • Significant responsibility and visibility from day one.
  • Opportunity to play a key role in expanding execution capacity within a lean, high‑quality team.
  • Ideal for candidates motivated by hands‑on problem solving rather than purely supervisory roles.
