  • A leading international banking institution is seeking an experienced Private Equity Sponsor Coverage professional to join its growing EMEA platform. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior originator to play a central role in developing and managing relationships with leading private equity sponsors while delivering a broad range of financing and capital solutions across Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, originating new business opportunities, and coordinating with product specialists across multiple financing products to deliver bespoke solutions to sponsor clients and their portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead relationship management and business development activities with private equity sponsors across EMEA.
  • Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with investment professionals, operating partners and key decision-makers within financial sponsor organisations.
  • Originate and execute financing opportunities across a broad suite of products, including leveraged finance, direct lending, capital markets, structured finance and asset-backed solutions.
  • Drive new business generation through proactive client engagement, market coverage and cross-selling initiatives.
  • Partner with product teams to identify and deliver tailored financing solutions for acquisitions, portfolio companies and wider investment strategies.
  • Coordinate closely with industry coverage teams to expand relationships with sponsor-backed corporates across key sectors including energy transition, digital infrastructure and technology.
  • Lead client marketing efforts, strategic account planning and revenue generation activities.
  • Monitor market developments, private equity activity and competitive trends to identify new opportunities and strengthen client engagement.
  • Contribute to global sponsor coverage initiatives and collaborate with international teams to support cross-border transactions and relationship development.

Candidate Profile

  • Significant experience within Sponsor Coverage, Leveraged Finance, Corporate Banking or Investment Banking focused on financial sponsors.
  • Strong understanding of private equity investment strategies, acquisition financing and capital deployment processes.
  • Demonstrated track record of originating and executing transactions with financial sponsor clients.
  • Existing network and relationships within the European private equity community.
  • Experience managing senior client relationships and generating revenue across a broad range of banking products.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify and convert business opportunities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across coverage, product and risk functions.

  • University degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluent English required; additional European languages are advantageous.
  • Exceptional relationship management, presentation and communication skills.
